Hi friends,

My query is about the jet blast distances. The documents 'aircraft characteristics for airport planning' by Boeing or Airbus gives the jet jet blast distances for at idle, break away and take off. But this varies with path planner aircraft data viewer.

For eg, For B 737 - 800, the break away thrust is
80m ( impact 56m/s) as per Boeing manual.
(http://www.boeing.com/assets/pdf/commercial/airports/acaps/737.pdf) and

the break away thrust is 148m ( impact 56m/s) as per Path planner aircraft data viewer.

Why is this difference ? Which is the better one to follow for practical purpose ?

Similarly for A380, the company manual (diagram) says 100m
(Aircraft Characteristics | Airbus, a leading aircraft manufacturer (http://www.airbus.com/support/maintenance-engineering/technical-data/aircraft-characteristics/)) and
Path planner aircraft data viewer says 89.

What do you think about it ? Which is ideal to follow for planning ground procedures ? Why ?
