ummm an undesired aircraft estate.

let us have a guess....

dear uncle thaddeus, against all advice to the contrary, owned and cherished a Chrislea Super Ace.
You know the super ace, the one aircraft made with a totally different control philosophy where the rocking motion of the yolk controls the rudder etc etc.
ugly as sin to boot.

uncle thad departs the mortal coil and the super ace becomes part of his deceased estate.
problem is that after drawing short straws it eventuates that none among uncle thad's rellies wants a bar of the bloody thing.
so they get together and try to sell the monstrosity.
"for sale, one unwanted aircraft estate...."

apologies to the two people in the world who actually like the Chrislea Super Ace :E

Undesired Aircraft States

Undesired aircraft states are defined as ‘flight crew-induced aircraft position or speed deviations, misapplication of flight controls, or incorrect systems configuration, associated with a reduction in margins of safety”. Undesired aircraft states that result from ineffective threat and/or error management may lead to compromising situations and reduce margins of safety in flight operations. Often considered at the cusp of becoming an incident or accident, undesired aircraft states must be managed by flight crews.
Examples of undesired aircraft states would include lining up for the incorrect runway during approach to landing, exceeding ATC speed restrictions during an approach, or landing long on a short runway requiring maximum braking. Events such as equipment malfunctions or ATC controller errors can also reduce margins of safety in flight operations, but these would be considered threats. Another example of undesired aircraft estate might be seats in the immediate vicinity of any lav(s). And no, I haven't the foggiest what a Chrislea Superwhatever is.

I just wondered is someone has more examples and some alternative definition of what they are.

they could make a much longer list with possible typicall undesired estates. I think it would be really useful for everyday operations and for training and checking, too.
