Hi all.
A very simple questions, hopefully with one (or a few!) simple answers:ok:

I know, and have seen, that some operators are using the airbus performance software (LPC NG) on tablets as part of their overall EFB offering.

My question, very simple, how is airport/runway analysis imported into such a mechanism ( class 2) does it have to imported via USB on the ground or can it be done electronically via a e file transfer and then a manual (user) import or can it be even smarter and electronically sync over a wifi connection?

With thanks

The iPads sync to a server that the company hosts. The iPads can sync over wifi or cellular data. Updates are done through EFB Manager app.. On iTunes if you want to download. It has a set of dummy data on it.

As said above databases are synched wirelessly for both the airbus and boeing software. Both are available free of charge in the appstore and contain a few example datapoints, enough to try them out. For full usage one needs company servers and of course the usual credentials.

For Boeing search for Boeing OPT, for Airbus try Airbus FlySmart, which is actually a suite of apps, a manager app, and one each for the documentation library, loadsheet calculation, take off performance and landing performance. Dunno about others, we do get a new database each week for the flysmart apps.
