Help with some information about the Venezuela's jobs market...!

Gracias:ok:

Che, todos queremos saber!!! Back to 2006 a long haul Captain was making less than 2000 bucks and an FO was making around 700 green notes.

Today the exchange rate is 1$-88 Bsf. A widebody captain makes less than 500$ a month in the best paying airline. The rest of the airlines that fly inside the country pay a little less to their Cap.

All the airline pilots want to leave. Pilots there have been leaving for a very long time, and now the pilots that do stay is mainly because they have been rejected in airlines around the world. Others are flying private jets, the pay is very good, and there are a lot of jobs. That situation gives 1500 hrs F/O the chance to be an MD80 Captain, Aeropostal (Goverment owned airline paying 250$ to their Cap) is doing this now.

The problem is the political and economic situation. The airlines are not getting dollars for maintenance, the Government has total control and refuses to give enough money. There are no long haul routes anymore, the last one closed January because the airplane was wet leased, and they had no money to pay for it.

All the airlines have about half of their fleet AOG for maintenance reasons.
