MAG probably drove down the price because they had the bargaining power of 2 airports to deal with...It is more likely that NATS were probably the side desperate to lock them into a long term contract to save a crumbling airports portfolio.

Well considering MAG are already an ANSP I think this is terrific news for NATS.

Could we see NX and HH coming into NATS portfolio if the deal was right?

Time for the new (prospective) owners of SOU to start talking to MAG about a combined approach function for SOU & BOH, which could lead to some significant cost savings benefiting both, and possibly pricing NSL out of the bidding for a SOU renewal.

Has NSL ever thought about this one with a view to making a realistic bid for BOH?

All of the SOU staff were TUPE'd in 2000 when NSL were given (not "won" as the spin doctors would have you believe) and the majority have survived to this day, less those who retired or went on to greater things within NATS.

How will that work with one being 24h and the other not? The HH controllers won't be approach rated or are you thinking of moving the whole approach operation from HI to HH?

Just a thought TCAS, if NATS did manage to get both contracts, combining both approach services is a cost saving move, so a possible relocation to Swanwick?? Would open up the move for S21 to also be added to the Solent zone and making it an area sector & direct linking it to Jersey. A whole host of benefits in that!
