Hello gentlemen

Do regulations still require carrying a 2D cell flash light?
I was flying EASA A320 and it was not required.

Dunno, we still have quite a few flash lights on board, i believe two at every FA station and two in the flight deck plus another two for daily use. We just switched from normal lights to LED ones though.

Whose regulations? What kind of operations?

USA FAA

91.503(a)(1): (a) The pilot in command of an airplane shall ensure that the following flying equipment and aeronautical charts and data, in current and appropriate form, are accessible for each flight at the pilot station of the
airplane: . . .A flashlight having at least two size “D” cells, or the equivalent, that is in good working order.

121.549(b): Each crewmember shall, on each flight, have readily available for his use a flashlight that is in good working order.

There is no definition of "equivalent" for the Part 91 rule.
