Thought April Fools Day had passed.....

Aircraft lands on a public road, taxies to petrol station to refuel (http://shanghaiist.com/2014/04/09/laowais_aircraft_lands_and_fuels_up.php)

If that had happened in EASA Land you can guarantee there would be consequences.....

On Tuesday morning, the aircraft was undergoing performance testing but the pilot had forgotten to check on the aircraft's fuel levels before taking off, and thus was forced to land and refuel along the roads.Yep, sounds like good enough reason to drop onto your nearest not-too-busy hwy, and taxi up to the gas station for a quick refuel.
One just has to ponder why an American pilot is testing light aircraft in China. Because he decided it wasn't safe to go back home just yet? :suspect:
I'm reminded of that neat bumper sticker I once saw - "Dead Pilots Society - regularly practising random acts of good airmanship". :suspect:

That happens in AK and NV without usually any consequences. Some troopers/sheriff's deputies don't get the concept, but most don't blink an eye.

I know one place in NV where we actually taxi off the airport on a dirt road for about a mile and park by the volunteer fire station near the highway to have breakfast or lunch at the local diner. :ok:
