FEs and Revalidation

Having recently completed a FE revalidation/renewal seminar (at more expense!)
I cannot understand the logic that since this was an 'extra' invented under EASA, why the revalidation cannot be similar to the FI reval - i.e AoC every alternate revalidation. This just adds another layer of cost with marginal benefit to the FE. Maybe one for AOPA to look at?

I found the FE seminar a bit of a waste of a day and i caught a stinking cold and lost a total of three days revenue!

Basically was told what the CAA should have done for free (well within the examiner fee) and should have sent us information in hard copy format or link to a web page, pdf, etc.

All we ask for is a proper examiner manual we can refer to and advise our customers.
