Working in Europe or other countries- Options?

Hi,

My fiance is a pilot and he's been working for a South American airline for the past 8 years. He's a Co-pilot on the A330 and will be a pilot soon.

We're thinking about what options he has to to work abroad. I'm a European citizen, so after our marriage he could legally work in Europe, but I don't know if that's an option due to regulations or specific flight licenses (or something like that) or if there are even jobs in Europe. We would also consider the States (although chances here are probably zero because none of us has a visa for there), Canada, Australia, South Africa, Turkey. Both of us don't really want to live in the Arab countries or in most Asian or African countries.

Can anyone tell me if we have any options? Could he work in Europe or in one of the countries mentioned above?

Hi Mayflower,

If he's got time on the A330, I'm sure there is work in europe for him. The problem is licence, I'm sure he knows himself that he would have to convert to a european licence and that's not as easy as it sounds. The advantage he has is that he has time on the A330. My advise would be to start the licence transfer process (ie exams etc) and go from there. As far as working in the EU and visas etc, I'm really not up to date with that.

Co pilot becoming pilot, you mean captain, then he better first become captain I suppose or you can move to Turkey very perspective airliner,they have 330s but then he better forget about being a captain
