This morning, a Darwin airplane (a Saab 2000, I presume) was standing halfway down runway 27R, surrounded by a firefighting truck, a crane and many service vehicles. RWY closed, of course, and some vehicles very carefully clearing the runway behind the plane. As far as I could guess from the inclination of the plane and the people gathered around, looks like a front gear problem. Aircraft did'nt quit the runway and no more damage than to the landing gear apparently. More informations ?

"Sur le nez" (on the nose) is an exageration : I don't think that the fuselage itself touched the ground, there was just a failure in the gear.

I've seen some photos now and there's a fair bit of damage. The bottom of the nose gear sheared off, and the aircraft continued along the centreline on the leg, causing wrinkling to the fuselage skin. One wouldn't want to speculate, but at the very least the aircraft will be laid up for repairs for quite a while.

That explains the extensive brooming of the runway. Small bits everywhere...

Lors de l'atterrissage, l'avion touche durement la piste. Il rebondit puis lorsqu'il atterrit à nouveau le train avant se rompt.

The aircraft touched down hard, bounced and touched down a second time causing the the nose gear axle to fracture.Kindly translated by the AVHerald. (http://avherald.com/h?article=46f32909&opt=0)
