Hi, I am planning to go to US in next few months. Now I have a CPL(A), IR, IR/ME. My question it is possible to convert my licence EASA to FAA PPL with ME/IR or only ME. It is very complicated to do? I read that for only PPL FAA it is very simple but I can't find any info about ME or ME/IR as addon for it.

The FAA will grant you a VFR private certificate with whatever ratings your foreign license has on it. So if you hold an EASA commercial with single and multi engine land ratings, the FAA will issue a private certificate SMEL. Paper just has to go back and forth from your CAA to the FAA. This is refered to as a "61.75" (from the section of the rules it falls under) or a "based on" certificate. To get instrument privileges added you have to pass either the foreign pilot instrument or the the regular instrument written test. No checkride required. However before you fly you will have to complete a flight review with a FAA insrtuctor.
