RNLI all-weather lifeboats from Fishguard and St Davids are this evening returning to their respective stations after being involved in a major sea search.
Volunteer RNLI crews from both stations were called to action at around 7.30pm by Milford Haven Coastguard following concerns a plane may have ditched.

A rescue helicopter from RAF Chivenor was also involved in the search.

The Tamar class lifeboat from St Davids and its crew searched an area between Porthgain and Trevine, whilst the Fishguard RNLI lifeboat focussed two miles north of the village of Trevine. Conditions at the scene were moderate and visibility good.

The search was called off just after 9pm after Milford Haven Coastguard was satisfied all the aircraft within the area had been accounted for.
