I've heard from someone that the CAA/DfT are implementing a rule that says nobody except crew can now go into the cockpit at all, not even on the ground for flight deck visits after/before a flight.

Apparently easyJet and Aer Lingus have already implemented this.

Seems a bit OTT if you ask me, bit hard for a terrorist to request a pushback and start an aircraft

If true more evidence (if needed) that the lunatics are running the asylum.

They trust Captains with an aeroplane but not, it seems, to exercise a little discretion from time to time. Welcome to the UK!

Will not happen in my airline thanks God.
I invite anybody I want into the cockpit, ground or inflight.:ok:

I guess no-one will be able to sort loadsheets, discuss pax issues, take birdstrike reports, do engineering and dispatch the flight then.

The OP is not correct. This rumor is false.
Fullstop.

I'm truly amazed that flight crew are allowed in the flight deck in Britain. Just think of the benefits. 100% safety, 100% security, very green, no noise.

Apparently easyJet have implemented this? Says who?! It's rubbish - that's a fact.
