John Denver might argue the point.

Great to start them off young - very rewarding for you both! However, I bet you were pretty alarmed to see the footage of his shoulder straps in that position!

One aircraft I really would like to fly in. Fast, efficient and fascinating. Pity they need long strips of hard runway.

True, and I'm sure the ~2'8" in length makes a dramatic difference for the purpose of my feeble attempt at sick humor.

Keep keeping me honest...;)

Maybe the 53% increase of wing area from VariEze to LongEze could have made a difference?

John Denver probably found the plane easy to fly. It was the fuel selector distracting him from doing so that caused the accident.

And the fact that he chose to takeoff with minimum fuel in an aircraft where he couldn't reach the fuel selector without taking three weeks of yoga lessons beforehand. He even borrowed a mirror from a mechanic so he could see the fuel qty gauge behind him. A properly constructed EZ would be straight forward to fly, but he chose to rely on an awkwardly positioned fuel selector and fuel quantity gauge will much less than full tanks....but we digress.
