Why two different terms?

Not too familiar with CANPA, so is CANPA an FAA thing, and CDFA Eurpoe?

We use CDFA every day, with using the minima as a DA, and if we don't have our visual reference we go around, is it the same on CANPA? From a brief google, I have the impression that with CANPA you still level off when you hit the MDA, where in CDFA we use MDA + 50' as a DA, and simply go around.

As I say, I'm familiar with CDFA, not so much CANPA, just trying to throw in some suggestions.
