Any idea what the 5 digit met codes that sometimes appear on US me tars refer to eg:

56013
50005 etc.

I looked in the FAA met decode book but couldn't find them listed. Thanks for any info.

The 50000s are pressure trends. It's all in the Federal Meteorological Handbook number 1.

Thanks, I will try and look it up. The link you gave isn't working for me but I had down loaded the manual earlier.

There you go, fixed the link. The remarks are explained in Chapter 12.

I'm guessing you looked in AC 00-45, Aviation Weather Services. You have to understand over here the FAA really doesn't do anything with weather except set limits and ask questions. They figure the pressure trends are too geeky for pilots.
