Dear All,

A very simple question: does anyone know why the runway and parallel taxiway separation at Munich Airport is so much greater than the recommended ICAO value? It looks close to 300 m, whilst ICAO recommends 190 m for a Code F runway/taxiway.

Was it done to provide space for the de-icing pads in front of the departure holds?

Can anyone help? Or at least point me in the direction of someone who could?

Regards

Perhaps it's for future planning purposes so if they need to construct an additional Code F parallel taxiway they have the space available. Code F taxiway to taxiway centreline requirements I think is 95m, so 190m from runway cl to first Code F taxiway cl then 95m from first taxiway cl to parallel Code F taxiway cl totals 285m.

Thanks for your response, although it's hard to see why they would need a triple parallel taxiway with the current set-up. Perhaps it could be handy if/when the new runway is built to the north.
