Lumps

Does anyone out there have more detail on the power plants on this aircraft - as far as I can tell it was powered by two TSIOL-550s (what is the L for?) turning large 6m diameter props (must have been geared, but no GTSIO) and both piston engines were fed by the gas generator of a PW127. How did this work?
Why not a couple of PW127s as normal turboprop installations - what is the advantage of piston / turbine hybrid?
What sort of CHTs would you get at 60,000ft! I thought it would be beyond normal piston engine metallurgy.
