Hi all,

It is that time of year when cash is asked for from users of Bute Airstrip.

All who visit are thrilled. Many want to know how to keep it going.

Well, here's the email:

Hi -

- as the Baird of Bute Day comes up on Sat 21st Sept 2013, it is time to put the word out about collection of same. Weather permitting that we get along, I'll be hastling people at the Baird Day for monies!

-but people can alternatively send (or give me a cheque) payable to the "Scottish Flying Club" (Bute Fund) to :-

A. Cameron, 1c Belmont Road, Ayr KA7 2PH.
Tel 01292-283293 Mb 07913-416236

Cheque senders, give me :-
Your name /
Aircraft type and registration
AND an e-mail address, so's I can acknowledge receipt of you donation or failing that a Tel No.

'Regulars' - it's the usual annual 30 pounds or plus - from each pilot in a group aircraft, (if that's the way you are) or individual owners.

Casuals as usual, at least the equivalent of 5 pounds (per landing or plus).

Thanks in anticipation of a good collection !

Sandy

XA: could you give us Sandy's email address (or PM me with it)? Wasn't aware of this scheme but would like to contribute and just want to be sure I know what's required.

Hmm,
Would've thought the local boss guy patron who trousered £45M about five years ago for a <purpose unclear> pile o' bricks near Cumnock could chip in a few pounds to pay for the up keep?
Just saying.

Without his involvement, it wouldn't be there.

Without our involvement, it might not stay there.

If you use it, a donation to help keep it going would be good.

(in my case, since we would charge £100 a year for a season ticket for Strathaven, and have two full-time and one part-time instructors who use Bute a bit, we gave £250)

If you don't use it, have a visit or two and you will appreciate what a great asset to flying it is. No landing fees!
