Yep it is ! Here you go for a start, all relevant to private pilots:-
Vx - best angle of climb speed
Vy - best rate of climb speed
Vxse - best angle of climb, single engine
Vyse - best rate of climb, single engine
Vsse - minimum speed for intentional engine failures
Vno - normal operating speed
Vne - never exceed speed
Vmc - minimum contollable airspeed
Vlo - landing gear operation speed
Vle - max speed, landing gear extended
Va - manoeuvring speed / rough air penetration
Vfe - max flap extension speed
Vs0 - stall, landing gear down, flaps lowered, power off
Vs1 - stall, landing gear up, flaps up, power off
Probably forgotten a few.....
Cheers

I learnt another one the other day - vTOSS! This is apparently something like the take-off-safety-speed in a twin-engined helicopter, the speed at which you can climb out after one engine fails.
I've never flown helicopters, but a post on the rotorheads forum confirmed it for me. That was another tricky question for a friend who's doing his dispatch license solved by PPRuNe!
