A380 Spoilers movement

I was observing the spoilers movement on the A380 and there relationship with the flap movements.
The spoilers seem to move up when the flap are retracting.
Does any know the logic behind this.

Just recently fly with A380. Flap spoilers was up a bit when flap retract it position. Whilst parking taxi. I think the reason it left up to get fuel in that weight made wing bend bit stop it damages both flaps and spoilers when up the air both are complete shut as wing straight up. I could be wrong

The spoilers extend 5 ° up on ground, when the flaps are fully retracted or moving, and at least one engine is running. This prevents friction between the spoilers and the flaps, which could damage the spoilers.

Got information from someone from BAE System. They retract flaps after landing to minimize the ingestion of debris and other foriegn object inside the wings. There is is alot of delicate hydraulics, screw jacks etc with need to be protected. Note that they do it as soon as the aircraft is off the runway.

Airline flap settings for take off are max15-20 degrees. Landing is generally 30-40 degrees. Keeping flaps down would probably result in more accidents!!

I think that you'll find that all types retract the flaps on the taxi in. Incidentally, the flap settings that you quote are Boeing numbers;)
