In the past you could apparently fly gliders on an FAA (or any ICAO) license in many European countries. For instance, in Germany, you could do so with more than 30 h total glider time and a (ICAO?) medical [1].

What has changed since introduction of the new EASA rules?

1. Can you fly with a FAA PPL w/ glider rating in EASA land?
2. Does the glider have to be N-registered?
3. Can you fly for hire in EASA land on an FAA CPL w/ glider rating?
4. Can you instruct on a FAA CFI glider in EASA land?

Sources in the legislation are appreciated.
