in a job interview of an airline, they have asked me below question, do you guys have any idea:

in our OM Part A, there is a section of "Pure VFR-Flights, VFR-Portions Enroute".

1. what is Pure VFR-Flight?
2. what is the reference of your answer to this question?

Many thanks in advance guys.

Pure VFR is when you hold to only VFR flight rules. Possibly no IFR fuel reserve on board and the flight departs VFR and lands VFR.

VFR portions means that at some point you might cancel IFR or declare VFR.
The only real reason to do this would be to help out a procedural controller to get a IFR departure away or to work under MSA.

Some companys that work under MSA may have a IFR departure then work VFR on task and then an IFR recovery into controlled airspace.

As for the reference it will be in the ANO of the airlines country where VFR will be defined and so will IFR.
