I have a question for 737 pilots. Anyone ever notice the + symbol at the side of the flap position 2 and 5 on the flap speed placard? Does anyone here know what it's there for?

I believe that's simply there for where the lighting for the panel is. Nothing to do with the flaps or its limitations.

It is the grounding point for that panel. Look at the panels on the overhead and you'll spot more + symbols.

BOAC, that link brings me back to the original thread - was that intended?

Should take you to the duplicate thread in 'Questions'? Mods asleep I guess.

Expanding on the grounding point '+'. If the panel lighting fails press on that point and you might make a connection.
