I have a question for 737 pilots. Anyone ever notice the + symbol at the side of the flap position 2 and 5 on the flap speed placard? Does anyone here know what it's there for?

If the + is associated with different limit speeds, then the + might delineate the value to be applied when holding. IIRC there is a different stressing requirement (lower speed?) for flaps-down holding.

You will find the + sign in various panels all around. It is used to signify that the panel is an LRU. I will let someone else explain what that means.

The plus sign next to the 5 is in no way related to aerodynamics, limitations or any SOPs related to flight ops.
