Most aircraft have problems lifting a full payload out of ACE when the north-easterly wind favours 03. With up to 15kts tailwind most aircraft can lift a full load from 21 but when the aircraft tailwind limit is reached you are forced to go from 03 which is where the problems begin.

I see some operators are running long sectors from ACE. FR go to EDI on the 738, TCX to EMA on the 321 and even Norwegian to OSL on the 738.

A couple of questions:

- What sort of weight can a 737-800 lift out of ACE03 with a 15kt headwind at daytime temps?

- Do Ryanair or Norwegian block seats to get enough fuel on ?

Seem to remember you can do around 72 tonnes on 03 with zero wind/OAT 20 degrees and no performance penalties. This would be for an engine bleeds off take off on the 738. The longer sectors were often evening departures.

We can lift about 82T on a 321. But our emergency turn starts at about 60ft (0.6dme)

Can't recall ever using RW 21 whith the 757. Thinking about it, never done bleeds-off either.

Still, getting kicked onto the 737-800 next year so will have plenty of chances.:(

RYR won't leave baggage or passengers behind, instead its fuel and we will do a tech stop for a splash and dash.
