Dear fellow PPRuNers.

Recently I've heard a rumour of certain airline that uses class1 EFB with type A applications on laptops that can't be charged anywhere on the aeroplane. They use EFBs for flightplans, notams, wx, OMs and takeoff calculations while using paper charts. Idea is that EFB is powered by the battery all the time and apparently it is both certified by local CAA and it works in practice. I wonder how widespread is the practice of being unable to charge EFB in workplace? I have my suspicions about battery expiring before FDP if things don't go all according to the plan.
