Hey!
Could someone be so kind as to give some information about how to "convert" a FAA certificate (Commercial SE, ME, IR) to an equivalent Canadian one?
Many thanx for your help ! :D

To the best of my knowledge, Transport Canada will issue you a "Restricted" commercial based on your FAA. I am not so sure about your instrument rating though. Here in Canada one must do an IFR flight test on a multi-engine A/C in order to fly it IFR. Having a multi-engine rating, and doing your IFR ride on a single is not good enough. I am not sure how you guys do it.
In any event, if you plan to work here as a pilot, then you'll have to do 2 exams (commercial and instrument) as well as 2 flight tests (commercial and instrument). If you have an ATP(L) it's a little easier, as there is only one flight test. I think there are 3 written exams though, as in this case there would be 2 for ATP(L) and 1 for instrument.
I am not sure where in the US you are, but you can reach Transport Canada in the Ontario region at (416) 952-0562. Ask for Personnel Licensing.
Cheers! :)

Any idea if the one test requirement to convert an ATPL also applies to an aussie licence? Any links to a website detailing these conversion processes?
Any info much appreciated.

Here's a link for you. It lists Transport Canada offices across the country. Sorry, but I can not seem to find any email addresses for you. Best bet I guess would be to contact them directly.
Cheers.
