View Full Version : LGCIU Triangle on WHEEL page. Which is which.

Hi,

Anybody got a reference to which LGCIU relates to which triangle on the WHEELS system page.

I've read documentation with conflicting information in the past.
Some say LGCIU1 refers to the left most triangle. Some to the one in the front.

I'm sure I read somewhere else that as long as 1 LGCIU shows a downlock then that takes priority and is shown in front.

Cheers.

Don't know what you mean by 'the one in front'.

A330 FCOM 32-10-30 P 3/6

(1) Landing Gear Position Indication
The landing gear positions are indicated by two triangles for each gear.
The left triangle is controlled by LGCIU 1, the right one by LGCIU 2.

The indicators on the LDG Indicator panel are always controlled by LGCIU 1 - as long as power is supplied -.

The 330 has symmetric triangles on the WHEEL page as do the new 320s.

I'm talking about the older "one triangle in front of the other" representation.

LGCIU 1 is the front triangle in our 320 suck-squirts.

Cheers Slasher,

That is what I've suspected, but cannot find any reference to it.

Maybe I'll have a look at it the next time I'm in the sim.

As long as any of the triangles on a strut is green, the gear is safely downlocked. No precedence between LGCIU 1 and 2.

The gear lights are linked to LGCIU 1, so if you are looking at the wheelpage to confirm downlock, there probably is an error in LGCIU 1. Or you are having a bad day where both LGCIU 1 and 2 indicate a problem.
If LGCIU 1 would take precedence than naturally you would not need to look at the wheelpage, as the info from LGCIU 1 on the gearlights and the wheelpage will indicate the same.

The ldg gear proximity detectors are hardwired to gear panel lights so it just requires lgciu 1 to be electrically powered. So even if lgciu1 is faulty but powered you have the gear panel lights.
