When the "howto" for calculating and publishing the required visibility or RVR were changed from JAR-OPS to EU-OPS. (1)Did the operating minimas increase, stay the same, or did they decrease? Taking into account the difference between visibility and RVR...

My operator uses EU-OPS charts (Jeppesen, Navtech), although we are exempt from EU-OPS (mil operator). With no written consent to use CMV (so far), and very few airports in this country reporting RVR, we are in unnecessary trouble if the met visibility value decreases below the RVR value published. Especially when trying to find a suitable alternate (using operating minima (ceil+rvr) plus a buffer as planning minima).

(2) What other possibilities are there in terms of "rules"/publications for establishing operating minima in addition to EU-OPS and the old JAR-OPS? I saw a briefing bulletin from Jeppesen which states that Jeppesen will be able to publish required visibility based on JAR-OPS, on customers' requests.

Any other comments or concerns? (Yes, I know EASA-OPS is coming. No, I do not know what it will bring of surprises).

Found out I had some very old approach plates from Navtech... an airport published in accordance with JAR-OPS in 2009 has the same values, stated in RVR, as it has today (in Jeppesen) published in accordance with EU-OPS.

You can still take the the DH/MDH minima from the euops charts and self calcolate the required visibility jar ops with the system minima table.
