Quick question relating to CAO 40.1.0 and logging of flight time.. Say a flight instructor was in a multi engine plane with no experience with a charter pilot (charter pilot is PIC), what kind of time can the instructor log? My understanding is it cant be "duel" because the PIC is NOT an instructor but it can be logged as "co-pilot" according to paragraph 10.5.. but what is "co-pilot" time, obv its not command or duel so im a bit confused :uhoh:

ME plane with "no experience", cannot log anything unless under instruction. Is this another troll/pisstake?

The instructor logs nothing at all!
No, just another pilot trying to justify logging flight time that he/she is not entitled to.
I wonder why inexperienced pilots don't realize that most experienced chief pilots can see right through this stuff.
It may not mean you don't get the job but it could very well be the difference between getting the job and it going to someone else.

Is the instructor a crewmember for the flight? If not then nothing to log. Just because you hold an instructor rating doesn't automatically grant you logging privileges when you happen to be sitting in a control seat.
To be a crewmember on the charter flight you must satisfy the various requirements to be assigned as flight crew. There can regulatory as well as company specified requirements.

My understanding is it cant be "duel" because ............. It doesn't involve pistols at dawn although if you saw the movie, it was tried with balloons and blunderbusses.

I know someone that logged flight time from Bairnsdale to Essendon as a rear facing passenger in the back of a Seneca :D. He didn't see an issue with it until his instructor noticed it sitting proudly in his log book.
I must log all the time I have spent in the back of Viscounts, F27, UH1H, B206, Caribou, B727, DC9, B707, B747, DC10, A380.
Back in the old days, was there not a column for "passenger" in log books?
