XL Airways France becomes a new A330-300 operator | Airbus Press release (http://www.airbus.com/no_cache/presscentre/pressreleases/press-release-detail/detail/xl-airways-france-becomes-a-new-a330-300-operator/)

Operated under a leasing agreement with GECAS, the aircraft is powered by GE CF6-80E engines (http://www.airbus.com/#)

Hi Alew Crew,

You probably noticed some warm gear box oil vapor being vented overboard via the engine drains. (http://www.google.com/patents/US5285636)
It is normal for gear boxes to generate oil vapor which must be vented else excess pressure will build up.

There are methods of measuring an acceptable leakage rate from the engine gear box, hydraulic actuators (for reverse thrust), fuel shut off valves etc, all of which are drained overboard.

What you saw was oil mist being vented from the gearbox breather (most unlikely to be coming from the engine drain mast) quite normal

several posters have said its oil mist, hmmm if it was a cold day when you saw this it would have been nothing more than warm air,
most large modern engines have centrifugal breathers which remove all oil particles from the breather air.

It's coming from the chemtrail generators.

Next cold day,go and get a good breathing of this 'warm air' and let us know if it smells like fresh scandi air:E
