Just found this pic of a Dan air comet next to this 747. Me and my parents used to drive past it at LGW all the time as it always seemed to be parked at the hangar near the road, we used to call it "the big carrot!!!" What airline is it at what happened to them? Takes me back to my childhood!!! lol!!

Thanks all - what a shame! A multi - colour fleet!! Great idea - didn't quite work here at B.A.

Braniff, and those of us that used to work on it at LGW called it - "the Big Orange". She was one of the most reliable 747's I've ever been involved with. I believe that when Braniff retired her, Boeing bought her for a forensic tear down.
