So it seems corporate air are taking over the freight runs from rex (saab 340), pionair taking over from national jet (bae 146) and many smaller operators picking up the regional runs....

Corporate Air Saab's are for passengers, not freight.

23rd Oct 2012, 09:00
Pretty sure the 146's are still flying...

23rd Oct 2012, 13:00
Make that
1 x 146-100F
3 x 146-300F's that are flying around.
Pionair CV580's are doing a run from Cairns into PNG at the moment.

BPA, are you sure?

717 tech, that is the case but not in 5 weeks.

23rd Oct 2012, 23:46

You are WRONG I'm afraid.

The 146s will be flying for a long, long time!!!

24th Oct 2012, 01:42
Correct 146's will be flying for ages, but will be going onto pionairs aoc

24th Oct 2012, 02:31
Yep, they are advertising for Cabin Crew on their website.

24th Oct 2012, 03:36
If Corporate Air intend to use the S340 for freight they will need A models. The serial numbers for the ones they are getting are Bs and there is no certified freight conversion available for the B yet.

Cabin crew for freighters?

25th Oct 2012, 12:32
Cabin crew in freighters???? Where do I sign:}

25th Oct 2012, 22:31
Come on J3 - you've already got an F/O on board for that...

25th Oct 2012, 23:43
I thought Pionair is called something else these days?

26th Oct 2012, 01:38
Pionair/Skyforce, same mob

Aparently early new year according to one of their capt's

26th Oct 2012, 03:45
Where do Pionair expect to be getting crews for these 146s?

26th Oct 2012, 08:33
woooohoooo! go steve

26th Oct 2012, 09:01
This could possibly tie in with the QANTASLINK thread. Cobham to breakup retaining Coastwatch and the rest to QLink and Pionair

26th Oct 2012, 22:29
AAE will be dead with the merger... Paint jobs to QF Freight with rooless red tails... So close your eyes and pretend your legacy (at 2am)

27th Oct 2012, 13:44
I agree. Where do these clowns get there information from.

AAE to rebrand to QF Freight shortly now that QF is finalising the buyout

from AusPost. Auspost to get 100% of Startrack plus pay QF some cash.

The four 737's and four 146's to get Qf freight with red tails minus the kangaroo on them.

Where did this Pionair BS come from.

. So close your eyes and pretend your legacy (at 2am)

I' m pretty sure nobody actually cares anymore, the reason people wanted to be in a "legacy" carrier was for job security and lifestyle and those reasons are gone now.
