For those with an interest in such things, the next big thing introduced with the help of EASA are the Standardised European Rules of the Air. The first bit has now been published. (http://eur-lex.europa.eu/LexUriServ/LexUriServ.do?uri=OJ:L:2012:281:0001:0066:EN:PDF)

Stretching to some 66 pages, it's hardly bedtime reading but most of it is going to be familiar because it's drawn largely from ICAO. Amongst other things, it sets common Differences from ICAO which all EU States must now notify, whilst withdrawing their 'own' old ones. It all happens on 4th December although States can put it off for two years if they can think of good reasons.

I'm sure it must be a good idea. :ugh:

Significant changes to the low flying rules though...

Are EASA law-makers genetically prejudiced against providing an index and a meaningful table of contents? It was quite difficult to find specific rules in JAR-Ops, EU-Ops too, in my recollection.

The problem with Europe...not got a problem...try to fix it...cause more problems...incur cost...become less competitive. Why do these people not get a real job which contributes meaningfully to the European economy!
