Hi,

I'm posting this as a favor to a colleague of mine who is working is  off to try and improve the situation of Canadian pilots in Canada. It takes about one minute to fill out and will most likely be a game changer in the process...

Original post, as seen on Avcanada:

"It seems that HRSDC has very little data at its disposal to evaluate the employment situation of Canadian pilots. Just looking at un-employed pilots collecting EI does not provide them with a clear picture of the situation, for many of us are stuck in a certain job while our experience and background would allow us to obtain a better one. They have no data on pilots stuck in an overseas job but who would like to come back to Canada. They have no data on licensed pilots working as ramp employees although not as pilots, for once you are working, you are not on EI and become invisible.
We hope to change that. We are preparing a Canada wide survey of all Canadian pilots. We will need the cooperation of all to make sure that every Canadian pilot fill it out. The data we will collect in this manner will be turned over to HRSDC to give them a better understanding of the overall employment situation of Canadian pilots.

This is a tool we are providing HRSDC to enable their staff to make better decisions when the time comes for them to approve or refuse requests to hire foreign pilots instead of Canadians.

The survey is located here:

Please cross post this anywhere you can think of. We need for thousands of Canadian pilots to fill it out for this survey to have any credibility.
