I have a question will Kingfisher airles be closed..

Hopefully ether they will be shut down or be forced to find a huge investment before continuing operations as allowing an airline with no funding is unsafe and is unfair to competitors.

whats about the emplys [sic]

While I have some sympathy with their situation, pilots who continue to provide their services with no payment cause considerable damage to the industry. First of all, it undermines the the pilots who are willing to stop working until they get paid. This is tantamount to scab labour.

Secondly, it allows Kingfisher Airlines to continue to fly on routes, undercutting the competition who are paying their staff and thus damaging said competitor. This can force the competitor into financial problems also.

Born on: Dec 18, 1955 (Age: 56) Sagittarius Born in: Banglore Occupation: Kingfisher Airlines, Chairman and CEO, United Breweries Group
Known for his flamboyant lifestyle and chilled out attitude, Vijay Mallya is the owner and chairman of the UB Group. His principal, United Breweries is the second largest spirits group in the world and has an evaluation of US $ 12 billion. After his father passed away in 1983, it was all up to the young Mallya to guide his father’s legacy through rough waters. He aptly rose to the occasion and transformed the company into a multi-billion dollar conglomerate. In this rollercoaster ride to the top Mallya has definitely seen more ups than down. His personal fortune and assets have also swelled and so has his appetite for leading a lavish and extravagant life. His exclusive VIP parties on his private megayacht, The Indian Empress rivals the best and his quest for the perfect abode has lead him buy over 25 properties all across the globe, some as exclusive as the one at Island of Sainte-Marguerite. He is as livid and bashful at his product launches, with a string of high profile celebrities lining at his side as shrewd he is with his business deals. The man considers himself as the best advertising model for his company’s tag line, the King of Good Times, and is quite attached with his Kingfisher brand; be it his ubiquitous beer, his Formula 1 racing cars or his airline. It is said he personally interviewed the young women who would serve as stewardesses. And for all his success, the strategy and flamboyance has served him well. He has invested heavily in sports, which includes an Indian Premium League team and a Formula One team worth 88 million euros. Mallya has for himself a vintage car collection of over 250 cars. In 2009 he bought Gandhi’s wire rimmed spectacles, pocket watch and other personal possessions being sold in an auction in New York for $1.8 million.

It is not very important whether any airlines is closed or not compared to the question, why this situation. World over many Cos are being closed and many are taking birth as well. Last 4 years, the economic slow down has taken a big toll on all business. Aviation being the cream sector, gets the worst hit as it finds lack of passangers travelling.
To worsen the situation, Vijay Malya mismanaged the KFA and what ever left was ruined by the corrupt and anti nationals in govt as well as DGCA, AAI, BCAS, private ground handlers sucking blood line "legally" and ilegally.

End of the line for Kingfisher Airlines. But the booming Indian market is just a bubble, and this epitomizes it.
Pity, as Kingfisher tried to employ more female pilots than the average Indian male-bastion carriers.:(

Billionaire Mallya Is Issued Warrant on Kingfisher Checks
By Sharang Limaye and Karthikeyan Sundaram - Oct 12, 2012 7:31 PM GMT

Vijay Mallya, the billionaire chairman of Kingfisher (KAIR) Airlines Ltd., may face arrest after failing to appear at a court hearing about the cash-strapped carrier bouncing checks.
A court in Hyderabad, in southern India, issued warrants for Mallya and four other executives, GMR Hyderabad International Airport Ltd. (GMRI) said in a statement yesterday. The airport operator initially filed a complaint because of four bad checks totaling 105 million rupees ($2 million), it said.
The order comes as liquor tycoon Mallya seeks investments for Bangalore-based Kingfisher, which has struggled to pay bills and wages for at least a year after posting five straight annual losses. The carrier halted operations on Oct. 1, when engineers and pilots walked out, demanding that seven months of unpaid salaries be settled.
“The warrant doesn’t mean Mallya is going to be arrested immediately,” said D. B. Goswami, a lawyer in private practice, who works on cases before India’s Supreme Court. “Check bounce is a criminal offense, but it isn’t something that’s out of the ordinary.”
Mallya can seek a cancellation of the warrant or request bail, Goswami said. Kingfisher Air hasn’t received any warrants, Prakash Mirpuri, a spokesman at the carrier, said in a statement.
Labor Dispute
A partial lockout, which Kingfisher had planned to end yesterday, is being extended through Oct. 20, Mirpuri said in a separate statement. The airline is “continuing to work with” employees to resolve the labor dispute, and it called on workers to halt the strike. Kingfisher is “hopeful” of resuming flights on Oct. 21, Mirpuri said.
Kingfisher fell 0.4 percent to 11.40 rupees at the close in Mumbai. Distiller United Spirits Ltd. (UNSP), Mallya’s biggest company by sales, dropped 2 percent. The benchmark BSE India Sensitive Index (SENSEX) lost 0.7 percent. Kingfisher, named for Mallya’s flagship beer brand, has dropped 29 percent this month.
India’s aviation regulator has asked the carrier why its permit shouldn’t be canceled or suspended following the shutdown. Kingfisher may be allowed to resume operations if it has staff to operate at least five planes, two officials at the aviation ministry said yesterday, asking not to be identified, citing rules. The carrier’s license can’t be canceled based on the current situation, they said.
