154 souls - nobody responsible.

Acc to the article, the judges see the main responsibilty resting with the pilots. They are dead, therefore no case for a trial.

The two technicians that have some responsibility will not be prosecuted.

Has anyone at Lufthansa being trialed and sentenced after the Nairobi no Slat takeoff? Acc. Wikipedia the FE was on trial and was not sentenced. They (FE and PIC) also won a trial against LH, who sacked them.

No one mentions the Management that opted against the config warning on cost saving grounds...

Rather glad (unlike the bullsh1t surrounding the Helios accident) that the Eng will not be prosecuted. I haven't read 100% of what is available, but I am fairly sure that the documents they had avail did not make fully clear the implications of what they were doing.

In any case, & it doesn't please me as a pilot to say it, if they had taken one of several opportunities to action (& check it had been actioned) the checklist, instead of "Arriba Arriba ! ! " this action by maintenance would have been an irrelevance.

Glass Houses/Stones I know, but they fouled up, plain & simple, and compounded it with their actions after rotation.

Well in the open and honest culture of fr, I trust nothing like this could ever happen?
