Hi Guys, It looks as if Dave is once more on his way around the globe after a weather delay at Reykjavick. He started off at our Airfield at Sleap, Shropshire, UK. in his Cirrus on 8 Sept. and is currently in Greenland, before heading off to Canada and USA, where he will pick up long range tanks for the Pacific crossing.

His progress can be checked on...

Give him a wave as he passes !

Pete

p.s. I don't think he is known for singing...

I never knew he was into flying other than "Ground control to major Tom" ;)
Can anyone confirm it is THE David Bowie?
Has he gone solo or with a safety pilot as many of the celebs seem to do?

That link does not work?

And there was me singing " ground control to major Tom all morning " ;)
Does he look anything like the real one ??? Maybe half brother, flying twin or even sister will do :E
That will be an expensive adventure with the cost of Avgas
Just looked at link and no : ( but does look like a great instructor Les who used to love GAVIT that used to be there!

Well it looks as if Dave has made it across to Newfoundland after several days delayed by strong westerly winds.
As you have guessed he has the same name as another Dave Bowie...
and if the link gave some problems, try...

I don't know how this Spot software works, but it certainly has its uses
both for GA and Gliding flights, maybe also for hiking/biking. (My guess
is that it actually transmits its GPS position to a vhf satellite.)

It looks as if Dave is having a few days in Indianapolis, before his next 4-500 mile flight.
