I am renwing my CPL on Monday. I see the section of the CAP804 shows a PPL together with the CPL printed on the Part - FCL licence. I have a UK Lifetime PPL as well.

Do I need to convert this licence at the same time to EASA, so that it shows together with the CPL, or do I leave the PPL as is ?

May want to drop the class 1 in future and fly on PPL only. But Im guessing if I do not convert PPL it will only cover annex 2 aircraft post 2014 - 2015 ?

I called CAA this morning and am no further forward.

Assuming that you have a JAA CPL then when you renew it on Monday, it will be reissued as a EASA CPL that will include an EASA PPL; you will not need another licence in the future for EASA or Annex II aircraft. Your existing lifetime UK PPL will also remain valid for annex II aircraft after 2014 no need to do anything with that.

Thank you that actually makes perfect sense. I am filling in the form which seems to be the old JAR one with EASA sections added, so hopefully I have completed all the rating sections correctly. Will find out in morning.
