Little bit of help here required please from you instructors. I passed my IMC theory about 3 months back and am now almost ready to do the practical, when I expect do a NPA and a PA at Cranfield. The confusing bit is the legend in the top right hand corner of the plates and no ammount of googling can I get the answer. There are 4 plates for runway 21 viz:
NDB[L]/DME
LOC/DME/NDB[L]
ILS/DME/NDB[L]
VOR
How are are the first three supposed to be interpreted as the IAF is to the NDB.In the second example why is LOC at the beginning and end? Thanks, very confused:ugh::ugh:

In the second example why is LOC at the beginning and end? It is not! LOC stands for Localiser, an ILS approach without a Glideslope and NDB(L) indicates that the NDB is the Locator i.e where it is located on the approach.
The 3 plates plates confusing you are:
1 NDB approach with DME
2 ILS Localiser only with DME
3 ILS - Localiser Glideslope and DME
All 3 use the NDB Locator.
