Looked out on the balcony having heard a low flying aircraft go directly over the house.
Just saw the back end of it but looked like a Lancaster.
T'was about 1000' heading in a northerly direction, over Marchwood at 1700.
Cracking sight - was this flying due to Cowes week or something?

It had brake trouble and was fixed at Manston.
It left Manston on Wednesday and flew to Southampton airport.
mmitch.
It was down to display at the Weymouth Carnival on Wednesday afternoon.
Oh and Minehead too apparently.

Around 60 years ago, an OCU Lancaster flew down to Somerset from Kinloss on a particularly urgent mission......
....to deliver Spey salmon for a dining-in night at RAF Merryfield. But in doing so, apparently it hopped down the runway in ever-increasing bounces until the QFI took control..:uhoh:
