I'm 49, classed as old controlling wise in the UK.
Anyone know if the aussie college may be taking on? If so anybody have contact details please.
Clocks ticking, cant emigrate after 50.

From my own experience working as an instructor at the College of Knowledge,a few years back, you needed to have held an Ozzy rating for the discipline to be taught i.e. Tower / App or En route. Straight from UK you wont have this experience so I doubt if you will be considered.
On the other hand you may be able to apply as an overseas candidate for a controlling job; not sure of the age limit but we had an ex RAAF guy who was 52 on a Twr /App course. Feel free to PM me.

Why not apply for an ATCO job in the UAE or Bahrain?

Because there is nothing available.

There's ALWAYS something available - turnover of staff is high in the middle east - it's not everyone's cup of tea. Many only stay for a few years then go off to greener pastures (literally!) or home.

Biggest opportunity at the moment is probably Doha - new airport almost finished and 60 or so Radar bods needed (last I heard). If the rumours I've heard are true, new package isn't bad either......

What's to lose by asking / having a look?

Guy...don't they apply the age restrictions though?
