An amazing recovery certainly, but surely the worlds greatest pilot wouldn't have made the cock and flown himself into the water...

The fella made a mistake like anyone can in a race and was staggeringly lucky to get away with it. He may be the worlds best pilot, who knows, but this incident certainly didn't prove or indeed even suggest anything of the kind. Sorry.

I agree; he did well to recover the situation, however if he is the worlds greatest pilot why did he allow himself to get into that postion in the first place :eek:

There are "Old Pilots" and there are "Bold Pilots" but there are no "Old Bold Pilots" flying like that he won't be around for much longer, extremely lucky to be alive.

If he is "so superior" he would know better than to put himself into a situation like that and lose control of an aircraft by stalling it at low altitude, but then to advertise such a cockup on the internet as being a hero, well,

The only 'goosebumps' I get are there because people on PPrune are suggesting this man is a good pilot.

Was he the only one in the race that managed to recover from the 'hit the water' part of the race, or did the other competitors somehow manage to avoid the water altogether?
