Hi - I am reading Pooley's Aviation Law and have a query regarding the location of Danger Areas on charts. An excerpt follows:
'A Danger area designated as D129/1.75 incdicates that it is located between 51deg. N and 52deg. latitudes, as shown by the first number (a '0' would indicate a Danger Area that is just North of 50deg.N and a '6' that it is just North of 56deg. N) and extends from the surface to 1,750 amsl'
I understand the 1.75 part - but am in the dark regarding how the first number relates to finding the lattitude of the Danger area. There are 2 Questions/answers regarding this in the Q. bank at the end of the book - I am none the wiser having read both Q & A.'s (I do find numb3ers a challange, though am workin' on it!)

I have found this forum to be a wealth of information and thank ya'll in advance for your assistance in this matter.

Prefix the first digit with a 5 and you have the UK latitude degree within which the DA lies. The second and third digits loosely fit a west-to-east sequence, but it's probably better to regard them as a serial number.

eg. D138 is DA number 38 between 51 and 52 North.

Is that what you want?

Thanks Talkdownman - have not seen the prefix 5 mentioned anywhere before, though have not done Air Nav. yet...will look at my chart and the book again to see if it makes more sense!
