Has ANYONE here ever heard the term "Procedure Track Approach" used in a approach clearance. Case in point is a clearance that reads, "Cleared ILS runway 24 Procedure Track Approach"? Airport in question is EINN.

Thanks in advance

Ireland uses ICAO procedures as per doc 4444 - but it's not something I've ever seen, heard or used.

Probably someone trying to re-iterate you're flying a procedure rather than a radar vectored approach. Not really necessary, not very standard.

the procedure (http://www.iaa.ie/safe_reg/iaip/Published%20Files/AIP%20Files/AD/Chart%20Files/EINN/EI_AD_2_EINN_24-11_en.pdf) can be flown starting from SHA or making a straight-in ILS starting from DERAG (in fact IAF is not marked)

probably they used to diversify the type of procedure even if it's not necessary

The procedure designer must have a military backround!

Procedure track approach is a terms that defines from the FAF inbound to the Map....

The phrase you reference, is it from a Chart?
