Cirrus SR22 group forming at Newcastle (EGNT).
We are planning to buy a G2 GTS (or Turbo, depending on funds) which no doubt, needs little introduction. PFD, MFD, autopilot, twin G430’s, TCAS, stormscope, TKS, 180 kts, CAPS, leather seats etc. Flights to mainland Europe can be easily done at a cost per mile cheaper than a Warrior, Cherokee or Cessna! This is a real going-places aircraft.
If you want to be part of this North East Cirrus group (the only North East Cirrus group?), we are looking for up to three other people to form a group of five. Availability will be excellent (as anyone in a group bigger than this will know). There will be little or no restriction on taking the aircraft away for days at a time and little or no restriction on booking in advance.
Newcastle airport is of course, open 24/7, and has all the usual international airport facilities – lighting, ILS, customs etc. and a discounted landing fee is available for all resident aircraft.
Costs are expected to be in the order of approx. £200pcm with initial entry of approx. £40 - £50k. IMCR or IR will be required by insurers and min. 200 hrs. Aircraft will operate on a dry rate so you can take advantage of cheap fuel stops in Channel Islands etc.
The intention is to find like minded people to share the pleasure of the aircraft starting late 2012 / early 2013.
