Whilst on the subject of photographs LL, if anyone was on EX 'Highland Cardinal' and 'OSEX' LFA7T in July 1993, contact me as I have shed loads of photographs over two weeks. Cannot guarantee to have one of you but if you supply mission number, a/c type, tail no (yes I was that close, working with FAC's) and of course date, you might get a nice photograph to show the Grand kids.

Snapshot, the photo's are excellent, sorry for not replying earlier just been out & about with work. I've looked at your sight, very good. For all you low-level drivers it's an art form as far as I'm concerned - got anything to add? http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/cool.gif

PFR,
thanks for the comments on my photography.
Not sure if you mean the art form to be getting the jet down in the mud or taking the photographs? Having said that, and having experienced both forms of the two 'arts', I suppose they should both be equally regarded as an 'Art Form'. If I have totally mis-understood your question, please accept my apologies, (working too hard).

Nice stuff, Snapper. (Thought I better make a comment as it took so f***ing long for the page to download)

Dear Mr Cheese,
thank you for your most graciously accepted comments about my photography. I do sincerely trust it was worth the wait? D:
However, I would like to leave you with this thought, Would a bottle of Glenmorangie be ready for the taste buds when initially bottled?
Sometimes the best things are worth a little wait. LOL

Thanks for the comments, cheers

Snapshot,

Great photos. Have you worked with helos at all? I know they are not quite as fast and pointy, but I'm sure there must be some good snaps there somewhere!

Cheers,

Ed W

Well, actually Snaps, the Glenmorangie would be at its best when bottled.Keeping it in the bottle improves it not one iota. The age refers to that at the time of bottling. Personally, I prefer the 12-year-old.

Ed,
thanks for the acknowledgment.
I assume you mean mil types? I have some nice Lynx and a few decent Oryx (Puma)and Bo105 when I worked with the South Africans. Is there a specific type you want to see?
I can dig some out of the vaults if people do not mind the download times?

Samuel,
thank you for educating me on the finer points of my favourtite malt. You learn something every day. On the subject of Glenmorangie and of course the Tain distillery. If there are any ex Bucc mates looking in, I have heard many times that when lining up a toss (I think) attack at Tain in the Navy era, the aircrew would line up a certain point on the wing with the chimney from the Glenmorangie distillery. If the formula which included speed, alt, and said chimney where all correct, bomb would be released and a certain guaranteed 'DH' would be had! Anyone confirm this?

Hi Fin,
I thought 'Windy' was in the back! Thanks for that, we have e-mailed each other but that was some time ago. Have to dig out my notes from the day and see who was the other chap.
Is he still at the southern airfield?

Snapshot,
Perfectly understood. From someone who's only had the pleasure to observe both the execution and the photograhpy is an `art form'. Did you have the fortune to witness Lightning's in the low-level system? Not their historical territory of old but in the later years they did prowl the LFA's? Had the pleasure of Buccs, Phantoms, Harriers, F-111, A-10's etc even Drakens & Viggins on exchange, but not that one. Anyway once again great photo's & thanks.
Anymore for anymore.... http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/cool.gif

Samuel,
thanks for the comments, much appreciated.

PFR,
no sorry mate, would have liked to get the supersonic wonderbird in the LFA's myself. Never knew they did actually. What a sight that must have been. I was cutting my teeth on my first camera and lenses when the Lightnings where starting to retire.

Nice photos mate! Have u considered getting in touch with Stn PROs/Sqn Adjs about possible Squadron commissions? Dugald Cameron's prints are great but some limited edition "in living colour" stuff would probably go down a treat too.

Snaphot,
Another awesome photo - certainly appreciated by this viewer. Got any `snaps' of foreign military in the LFA's?
Also any ex-lightning drivers like to elaborate on being down in the weeds or even better have a photo to share. http://www.pprune.org/ubb/NonCGI/cool.gif
and once again Snapshot thanks for posting.

Nice work Snaps

Any of Fat Albert.... not looking quite so low, quite so fast and quite so pointy - but impressive non the less for something that weighs 70 tones!

Bad Livin,
thanks for the comments on the work. Most of the boys know me and how to contact me if they want any photographs. Over the years I have 'pitched up' at various locations for certain individuals or Sqn's, not for any money but for the hell of it. It has always been a privilege to fly with the finest and to provide the 'work force' with a few decent shots! Most of my photographs end up in AirClues (what was), Flight Safety, RAF News and the aviation mags.
I must admit, I don't have the time I used to have due to living abroad for awhile and becoming a Father. Most of my mates have or are about to leave and end up flying bucket and spade tubes for a living.

PFR,
my personal fan club! Thank you for the support. I do have foreign military but air to air and not low level. I shall post a couple if you want to see them?

Hi T_Handle, I don't have any C-130 low level like the ones seen here although I do have plenty from around the bazaars over the years. If you know any Albert crews that would like a shot or two, I am planning an excursion VERY soon. If so, contact me now!

PFR,
you mentioned alternatives to British stuff, so here is a WGN Tornado from Marineflieger 2 at Eggebek. Not low level but I like it.
Also have some nice shots of SAAF Cheetah over the Eastern Transvaal from 2 Sqn AFB Louis Trichardt.

Snapshot,
Meant to reply to your earlier, been away working again. Thanks again for the snaps, the Buccs look splendid! Also thanks for the e-mails & I have visited your sight, once again nice work.
Thinking of Buccs, you the guys who filmed `Farewell Bucc' & `Jaguar Force'?
Nice to see there are a `few' out there who appreciate the artmanship of being `in the weeds'....
Me and a pal in younger years use to go low level catching in Cumbria west of `the gap' just above Barnard Castle north of the A66. Did'nt ever manage the standard of snaps you've achieved however, great stuff,
Cheers PFR. :)
