Hi everyone,
I would really appreciate if some one can tell me where I could find cheapest hour building aircraft. The best deal I have had for PPL HIRE is £125 and as I need over 100 hours that would amount to about £12,000. Does anyone know if there is any school that offer good deals and just to point out going to STATES is not an option for me.

Try Full Sutton (http://www.fullsuttonairfield.com/) Aero Club. Cas Smith is very helpful. There are no fancy facilities, just a warm welcome.

Learn to Fly with Flying Lessons in York and North Yorkshire | York Flying School - PPL Training, Experience and Trial Flights and Aircraft Hire. (http://www.yorkflyingschool.co.uk/) have 2x C150 for £100/hr. Based at Breighton, where you need annual membership of £55. No other gotchas or dodgy "new member fees" etc, and the school seem very approachable from what I've seen and who I've met and chatted to there.

So in your terms, that's PPL HIRE for £100/hr.

The other option would be Full Sutton, where (last time I checked) you can fly C150/152 or a PA28-140 for £90/hr. Their membership is something like a tenner per month or £95 annual. Aircraft Hire and Flying Lessons Rates for Cessna, Piper and Slingsby Aircraft are amongst the lowest in the country (http://www.fullsuttonairfield.com/prices.html) Cas Smith is a nice bloke and plenty helpful, and they have a good little operation there.

You could always buy a share in a group or whatever too, but I don't have any experience of that... I live by the mantra: "If it flies, floats or f*cks, pay for it by the hour!" ;-)

Give Sherburn Aero club a ring. AT3 £88.50 solo per hour.

As far as I know the AT3 is a microlight and as such would not qualify - but I'm prepared to be corrected. I still think you would be much better off at Full Sutton or Breighton as has also been suggested. Both of those places are very friendly.

Whilst it is possible to register an AT3 as a microlight, most (including the 4 at Sywell) are registered as VLC and can therefore count towards your hours.

If you're willing to go further afield then Lincoln Aero Club at Sturgate have very reasonable hire rates for a 152 and a Cherokee 180. The aero club only operates at weekends though.
