Hi all...my mate who hates the computers asked me to post this question for him,

He started an NPPL M course a few weeks ago...using the Ikarus C42 type a/c and intends to build a kit a/c in the coming months,

He is not sure which kit he will go for at the moment but may well be not in the microlight group,

If he needs to upgrade from the microlight nppl m to the nppl ssea in the future can he expect any problems or pitfalls.

Nick.

Nope, he will need to do the extra exams, sufficient training to meet the requirements and a NST/GST.

As Bose says, just some additional training. It's all in Section 2.1 of this .PDF from the NPPL website:

NPPL Allowances Against Training (http://www.nationalprivatepilotslicence.co.uk/PDFs/NPPL%20XC%20REV%2009.pdf)

Training as required, including at-least 2 hours stall/spin awareness. 8 hours seems about the average.

One written exam

NPPL(SSEA) GST and NST.
